Welcome to The Gut Feelings Book Club, where soon we will all be well-read, and very well-fed. I am so excited to start reading with you all because I don’t know about you but I have a problem where I buy 5 self-help inspiring books at a time, all motivated, and then they just sit on my bookshelf collecting dust.
An accountability partner helps me so much, and the fact that now we have a whole group??? I mean it’s just wonderful.
We will be having a live discussion twice a month, best time for most people is on Sunday evenings at 5PM PST. There will be a discussion prompt today, and the first live discussion will be on the 27th. The live discussions will occur in the subscriber chat (scheduling deets below) where we will all log into Substack at the same time and live-chat about the chapters we read!
I will also post discussion questions in the chat in between the live discussions, so please please please join the chat as that will be where we are communicating!!! Turn on reminders/notifications as well!
PS: For the chat discussions - make sure you are replying within the thread and not creating a new thread!!
Book Club At-A-Glance

Overview: 8 weeks
Discussions: 1 pre-read thread, 4 live discussions, and discussion-threads in between
In between each session, discussion prompts will be shared in the chat for each chapter! Each session overview contains what to prepare, actions & then the activity theme for our live discussion!
Today 10/12: Pre-Reading Discussion & Goal Setting
Preparation: Read the introduction of the book and write down your personal goals for improving habits
Action: Set intentions
What are your personal goals for reading Atomic Habits?
What do you hope to achieve (ex: improve a habit, gain knowledge on habit formation)?
Activity: Create a habit intention statement and write it down: "I will [DO THIS HABIT] at [THIS TIME] in [THIS LOCATION]."
Once done, go to the subscriber chat to answer the discussion question, “What is one habit you’ve always wanted to build or break? Why has it been challenging for you?” and then share your habit intention statement & your why!!!
Session 2 10/27: Part 1: The Fundamentals of Habits
Preparation: Read chapters 1-3
