Italian’s know how to cook, and they know how to eat. Not only do they use the highest quality of ingredients, but when they cook, they cook with love and care (which is the secret ingredient for the best tasting food).
Italians pass family recipes down through generations. Every Italian family has their special recipe book. Each recipe has love, meaning, memories and culture. Every bite you can taste the love and nostalgia.
When they eat — they make it an event. There is no multitasking while eating, you don’t eat and work at the same time, you don’t eat and scroll. You eat sitting at a table, sometimes alone but mostly with friends and family, being present and laughing. Eating slowly. Enjoying the food and the present.
I think we can all learn a little something from Italian’s and their beautiful culture.

When I was in Italy — I ate so much of their food and never once felt sick or too full. I was always perfectly satisfied and happy.
You can tell how much love each chef puts into their food, their restaurant and their community. It is truly so special. So for Valentine’s day I am bringing that Italian love and culture home through the best dessert ever (and Cooper’s personal favorite) — Tiramisu.
When Cooper & I were in Rome we took a cooking class (best cooking class EVER by the way if you are ever in Rome I highly recommend doing Cooking with Mamma) where they taught us how to make authentic tiramisu and pasta from scratch.
Since then, tiramisu has become one of my favorite desserts. Each bite just melts in your mouth. Writing this is making me want to go back to Italy so bad — I truly think about it there + their food at least once a day. So doing the next best thing and transporting to Italy with some homemade tiramisu.
Make this with love, for someone you love <3
