Happy Sunday! The sun is shinnninggg today. I hope you all have a chance to go enjoy it. Maybe check out a farmers market near you, whip up a nice smoothie.

All I have been craving lately are smoothies. Definitely because it’s been so warm out recently. Been needing to replenish and cool down with a nice smoothie after being out in the heat. A lot of you keep asking me for more smoothie recipes, so I thought I’d share some of my favorites that are in rotation as of late.

Today’s Smoooothieee Recipes:

  • Mint Chip Smoothie

  • Chocolate Cherry Frosty Smoothie

  • Vanilla Bean Coco Nice Cream

  • Peaches n Cream Smoothie

  • Cherry Garcia Smoothie

  • Wild Blueberry Muffin Smoothie

  • Tropical Kauai Smoothie

Backkkk in the day my first job was at a superfood cafe, and I had the title of Smoothie Master. It was such a fun job, and I mastered the art of making smoothies.

It honestly ruined my experience of ever getting a smoothie out again because it was just never the same! I always preferred making it myself. So sharing some of that love today. I have so many different recipes in my arsenal it’s crazy, so if you enjoy these let me know and I will share more!

BLIZZARD TEST! I haven't ended up with a smoothie on my head yet....*knocks on wood*

Some Tips n Notes

Must read if you make any recipes for optimal smoothie success
  1. I like my smoothies THICC. I don’t sip them through a straw, I eat them like ice cream with a spoon, and the recipes reflect that! All of the smoothies posted will more than likely pass the blizzard test. If you are someone who doesn’t like them so thick, here’s a couple of options for you:

  • Reduce the amount of ice in the recipes (can cut it in half or completely axe)

  • Add more liquid to the smoothies

  1. IF THE SMOOTHIE WILL NOT BLEND. Here’s what you do. First, shake it up and mix up with a spoon what is already in there, blend, shake/mix, blend again. This movement helps the blender get a better hold of everything sometimes it just needs an extra shimmy. Do this a few times if it is stuck. If this still does not budge, then add a little extra liquid 1 TBSP at a time. Add, shake, blend. May need to shake again, but always shake and mix around prior to adding liquid because usually the smoothies will blend without more liquid just gotta be patient. The more liquid you end up adding the more likely it won’t blizzard (and you’ll end up with a smoothie all over your head…don’t blame me…)

  2. For protein powder! I use lineage provisions protein, it is flavorless (discount is ELLA10). If you don’t want to use protein powder, I recommend adding 1/4 cup of greek yogurt + a big scoop of collagen, I like using THIS collagen (discount is ELLA39677). You can of course always add greek yogurt and collagen anyways along with the protein powder! Protein & collagen both give the smoothie that nice frothy and smooth thicccness.

  3. The blender I use is this Nutribullet. I also have a Vitamix Blender which does wonders easily blending thick good smoothies as well.

  4. Keep an eye on your blender! Once everything is combined, stop it! Or just use pulses all throughout to avoid overblending. Over-blending will thin out the smoothie and melt it so it is no longer thick.

  5. TOPPINGS. I always add toppings to my smoothies. Yes for good flavor elevation and crunch factor, but also because it helps with my digestion! Cold icy beverages can be harder to digest - especially if they’re just gulped down. This is why I love eating my smoothies with a spoon and chewing them with the crunchies toppings on top. This helps the body naturally produce digestive enzymes to better digest what we’re consuming. Also helps use to slow down while eating. Whenever I have a smoothie with a straw I get a stomach ache. My favorite toppings: granola, cacao nibs, brown rice crisps, bee pollen, nuts, raw honey.

  6. Food waste hacks. If you have fruit odds & ends, for example strawberry tops or leftover fruit pulp from making juices, place in an ice cube tray with a little bit of water and freeze. Use this as your ice cubes to throw into smoothies! If you have leftover nut butters, honey jars, or yogurt jars that are down to their last bit, use this as a cup/bowl for your smoothie to get all those extra good bits!

  7. Fruit tastes better when you freeze it yourself. For example, buy your own bananas, let them ripen, slice them up and then freeze them. Get cherries, pit and freeze them. Cut up mango and freeze, etc... Not only is this more cost effective, but when you buy your fruit in season and let it ripen before cutting and freezing it has so much more flavor. When you cut, lay everything out evenly on parchment paper and cover and let freeze. One frozen you can then throw everything together in a bag, this double freeze helps so that not everything sticks together.

  8. If you want to “meal prep” the smoothies, blend everything together except the ice, and use water as the liquid. Add into an ice cube tray and freeze. When you want to make your smoothie, add the ice cubes into a blender with the liquid stated in the recipe!

Okayyyy lovers. Let’s get into the cooooool refreshing deliciousness.
