Good morning & happy Sunday. I am sipping on a plain old latte with raw milk this AM (iced of course) - I do love a fancy schmancy bev but sometimes back to basics is best. I went straight to the farmers market (brought my grocery list attached below) this morning to pick up ingredients for a BLT because I was cravingggg one, and pickles of course. If I go to the market hungry without a grocery list… that is dangerous territory.
Adulthood is realizing that there is no such thing as “breakfast foods”, or lunch and dinner for that matter. We limit ourselves so much by putting foods into certain categories when really we should just eat more of whatever we are craving. Listen to your body because it is always trying to tell you something. Last week I had raw ice cream for breakfast and the next morning chicken noodle soup with some sourdough toast and butter - I felt amazing. BTW: The best ice cream topping is olive oil, raw honey and a lil flakey sea salt oh my goshhh just trust me on this one.
Health Pillar of the Week + Intention: Slowing Down
Queue Vienna by Billy Joel - “Slowww down you’re doing fine you can’t be everywhere you want to be before your time…” I love that song. But Billy is righhhht. What is the rush? I fall victim to this often, I have a big goal in mind and I rush to achieve it but when I achieve it I am happy for one second and then it’s back off to the races. I didn’t enjoy the journey and the process to get there and I am just chasing an end game that doesn’t lead to any sort of satisfaction. I am really trying to remind myself to slow down, be more present, enjoy the day to day and be proud of my accomplishments. There is no need to rush to the next thing, it will come when it does.
We live in an age of social media and comparison. It is easy to fall susceptible to thinking everyone’s doing more or better things than you are. But we are comparing the worst versions of ourselves to the best version of someone else. Comparing yourself to that person is taking away from all of the incredible things that you can be doing for yourself. You have your unique strengths and mindset. It can be really easy to get caught up in all of the success everyone else is having, and feel like you are falling behind. You are not. There is no rush. Everything will happen the way it is supposed to.
I was reminded by this video I saw on Instagram. It really puts things into perspective for me. We look at a successful individual and compare ourselves to their success, but they all found success at their own times. Maybe you will find success at 20, maybe it won’t come until you’re 60. But as long as you stick true to yourself and your values, it will come.
On that note, my intention this week is to remind myself to slow down, be present, and stop comparing myself to others.
Favs this Week
QUALITY Coffee
I’ve talked about this before, but I used to drink a TRENTA cold brew from Starbucks every morning while in college…. YIKES. If I did that now I actually think I would have a heart attack. Since I was drinking it so often, I didn’t even realize the negative symptoms it was causing me (digestive distress, acid reflux, anxiety, hives, brain fog, insomnia, adrenal fatigue). Completely putting my body in a state of imbalance. Eventually, I cold turkeyed it all together. Went caffeine free for a few months and felt incredible. I slowly started reintegrating high quality matcha which made me feel good. When I would drink coffee I just never felt good - the buzz wasn’t even worth it.
Until I found good quality coffee. Most conventional coffee’s are highly sprayed with pesticides + herbicides and riddled with mycotoxins and mold. I had always thought it was the coffee that was causing all of these issues, but I came to realize that it was the quality of the coffee that was causing these problems. I now drink coffee often again without all of the negative side effects. I personally have been lovingggg Purity Coffee*: it is organic, tested for mycotoxins, heavy metals, mold, pesticides and 100% free of all of them, and sustainably sourced. So I am getting all the benefits of coffee without all the downside.

My favorite coffee (or matcha) recipe of the summer is the following - I have been obsessed with this.
Coconut Hydrating Latte
Ingredients:
Cold Brew Coffee (I make it homemade with Purity’s Ease Blend)
1 Cup Coconut Milk
1 Scoop Collagen
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 Cup Coconut Water
Recipe:
Blend together coconut milk, collagen and vanilla and pour over ice
Add in cold brew (as much as you’d like) and coconut water
Enjoy! So refreshing
Morning Routine Lymphatic Drainage Massage
I have recently added to my morning routine a full body lymphatic drainage massage - and it is one of the best things I have ever done. I almost immediately noticed a difference in inflammation, bloating and digestion. I start with oil on my legs - opening lymph nodes, massaging upwards and then using these wooden tools to break up fat and sculpt. Then I move my stomach, arms and neck. Takes an extra 10-20 minutes but it has really become integral into my daily morning and I feel the difference when I go without it.
Grocery List + Meal Ideas
Like I saidddd… Planning is key for me to make sure I #1 get everything that I need, #2 don’t overbuy food, #3 don’t waste food. I love to bring my grocery list with me to the market and plan out ideas for meals I can have throughout the week. I am not much of a meal prep person but I do like having a general idea of what I am making throughout the week and making some things “meal ready,” (aka pickled onions and ginger shots. But cmon, don’t fret, I did the work for the both of us so you can have more time ENJOYING and being present this beautiful Sunday.
Below is a weekly grocery list + links for recipes you can make throughout the week! Enjoy x
