Happy Sundayyyy!! I hope everyone is feeling light energized and refreshed this morning after gaining an hour of sleep last night. Although it is so rough that it will begin getting dark earlier I do love when it is light and bright out in the early morning… early mornings are slow, therapeutic and peaceful, and the sun just brings an extra level of beauty to it. Also just makes waking up in the morning that much easier when it isn’t pitch black. Truly is starting to feel like winter!
It makes me SO happy to see all of you making + sipping on the superhero latte that I drink quite literally every single day. Yes… currently sipping on it right now. Even though the weather is getting colder this is one iced beverage that I will not be able to give up.
Something I have really been thinking about lately is the beauty of forgiveness. Forgiveness (& empathy) is a super power, and not only does it relieve the stress of someone else, but it also brings a lightness to yourself.
Carrying around anger inside of your body manifests into negative thoughts and potentially even physical symptoms, and with everything going on in the world, we don’t have time to waste on staying angry.
Every single person is living life for the first time. You. Your parents. Your friends. Your grandparents. Making mistakes is a part of living. Making mistakes is how we learn and grow. We are so quick to judge an outsider and hold them to such a high standard, yet justify our own mistakes.
My intention this month is to actively put myself in others shoes, and assume that they are truly doing the best that they can.
With a new month…reflecting on the past month…I wanted to list out some of my October favs!
LAST MONTHS FAVORITES!
Warm Citrus Spice Candle: I am a candle LOVER. Like it is actually kind of a problem I burn through them so quickly. Because of that I always make sure to prioritize high quality + non-toxic candles (without artificial fragrance or endocrine disrupting chemicals) and my favorite has been this one. Mineral Bubble Baths: If you have a bathtub… USE IT. Oh my gosh have I been taking my bath tub for granted. A good bath is so so therapeutic. Especially in this cold weather. Not only do you get a wonderful sweat in, but when you add salts it helps soothe muscle soreness and infuse the body with vital mineral nutrients. These are my fav salts + fav bubbles.
Journaling: Last month I did a 30-Day journaling challenge and it was really amazing. I feel like I was able to connect so much more with myself and understand my thoughts. It helped me break down creative blockages and general mental blocks as well. Definitely going to continue it in my every day routine. My favorite journal has been this one: Creating my Reality Journal.
Apple Grilled Cheese: No but you have to trust me with this one. It makes sense because apple + cheese is one of the best snack combos, and once you add in sliced apple into your grilled cheese it is…..life-changing. mouthwatering. perfection.
Sourdough Discard Recipes: One of the most fun parts about sourdough starter is using the discarded parts to make and explore fun new recipes. These baguettes^ are one of my go-tos. I also made foccacia muffins this week (wayyyyy too good). I love Ballerina Farm recipes, but I will post more of my own soon too!
Homemade Pasta: Ever since I got back from Italy I have been so inspired to make pasta from scratch. It is SO much easier than you think, and very rewarding. My go-to fav right now has been sweet-potato gnocchi since it is sweet potato season, and they are literally cute lil fluffy pillows of joy. So delicious.
Coffee: If you haven’t heard me talk about it 572810 times now… I am addicted to coffee. However, I used to have such negative symptoms when it came to coffee (headache, jitters, nausea, digestive distress, acid reflux, anxiety, the CRASH) but I do not get these symptoms anymore with Purity Coffee. Shilajit: One of my favorite ways to get minerals in the morning is through Shilajit. It is a sticky black mineral resin that is filled with 84+ minerals. Shower Eucalyptus: I’ve started buying eucalyptus bunch at my local farmers market and placing it in my shower and the aroma is so nice! It is so relaxing, soothing, and definitely helps reduce congestion. Also I can never say enough good things about my shower filter.
Mini Pots: I don’t know what it is but I am obsessed with making mini things. They are just too cute. My obsession started with these mini chicken pot pies… and they are the first of many mini pies to come.
Blue Light Glasses: These have changeeeed my sleep. I mean, ideally we are all supposed to avoid blue light + florescent light and stay off our phones and computers once the sun goes down (or AT LEAST 30 mins before bed), but that does not always happen. When I find myself on my computer or phone late night, putting on these glasses while working helps so that the light does not negatively impact my sleep and mess with my circadian rhythm when I need to go to bed.
