Good morning beautiful people. I am sitting here sippin’ on some warm lemon water and a nice coconut matcha latte. Dreaming about my peach n’ cherry sourdough crisp for breakfast.

I love fruit. ESPECIALLY during the summer months. So grateful to have all of the best fruits in season, but sadly like all seasons eventually do, summer is coming to an end. At the end of each season, I tend to get a little bit out of hand with the fruit I buy because I want to eat as much of it as possible while it’s still in season and amazing.

Because of this I end up with a kitchen full of fruit. Eventually if I don’t eat it, a freezer full of fruit. It is a good problem to have. This week that was peaches. The ones at the market were calling my name and I bought about 10. A couple weeks before it was cherries, and the last few bags at the grocery store were telling me I needed to grab them before it was too late.

So here I am, 10 peaches ripened on my counter, and about 100 cherries pitted and frozen in my freezer. That is where this recipe was born. What better, easier, and more delicious way to use this fruit then to make a crisp.

I love this recipe because it is low maintenance but it does not taste or smell like it. Makes your kitchen smell like heaven. It is easy, yet elevated. A dish that can be served for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert and make everyone smile. Plus, if you need a way to use that excess sourdough that is just sitting in your fridge, this is the perfect way to do it.

I love peaches n’ cherries together because peaches have that sweetness and cherries have that nice tart balance. The middle center becomes so ooey gooey jammy delicious, and the crisp topping becomes like a brown butter oatmeal cookie. Served with some peaches n’ cream ice cream (using the rest of those peaches we have, recipe below)….party. in. my. mouth. Enjoy <3

PS: If you don’t have sourdough or can’t eat gluten, I have a topping recipe with and without!
