Good morning & happy Sunday friends :) Hope you are having a wonderful start to your day. Since we’re slowly approaching the end of the month (literally the longest month of the year it feels like lol) — it is time to answer some questionssss.

highlight of my weekend: farmers market eggs

If you are like wtf I didn’t get to ask one — make sure you join the chat because that is where the thread for questions is each month! I pose the thread usually mid-month and then answer all the questions at the end of the month.

Q: How to tune out the noise of too many calories/“bad for you” foods?

It is honestly quite scary logging on the internet now a days. Most things that I see are based in fear — or trigger an emotion of “I am not enough”. No matter how evolved of a person you are, it is easy to be susceptible to this noise. The best way to negate that is to find strength in your own intuition. We are deeply disconnected from our own intuition and inner voice today.

This disconnection from our intuition usually comes from a place of restriction and scarcity. For ex.) When you crave something, you don’t allow yourself to have that something because it is “bad”. You are stuck in a scarcity cycle, and to break this, you must allow your body freedom and abundance.

Food is SO MUCH MORE than just “good and bad”. It is much more complex than that. Food is nourishment — more than just in the form of nutrients. It is joy, energy, culture, love, memories, it’s life.

Stressing over a “bad” food or calories or toxic ingredients is much worse for your brain and body than whatever the thing your stressing over would be. Health has become this thing where it is all based in restriction and scarcity, cutting things out and categorizing everything as bad and good. That is the opposite of what health really is. Health should feel freeing, it should be abundance. It should be ADDING things in to make life better, not cutting things out to make it more stressful. It completely contradicts itself.

You must reframe what health truly means. To me — health can be eating a big meal with friends, sipping on drinks, and laughing with them, enjoying the present moment, savoring the delicious food, connecting with people — laughing and loving. To others — that same situation of health may mean making sure not to eat any at the food at the table because of what ingredients it contains, not paying attention to the conversation around them because of worry and fear of a toxin that is in the drink. Which sounds more healthy to you? Truly. Ask yourself these questions.

I used to think health was based in restriction, and I lived in fear and constant stress and worry. My health was the worst it had ever been even though I was doing all the “right” things. Now — I allow myself freedom and abundance, I eat whatever I want, I drink whatever I want, I constantly and consistently nourish my body, I savor in the present moment and I enjoy time spent with loved ones. I am now the healthiest I have ever been. Reframe what health truly means to you.

And also — cut out the negative noise where you can. Sometimes the biggest shifts require a change in consumption. Focus more on creating and doing things that bring you energy versus things that drain your energy. Evaluate your day to day habits. And most of all — build trust within your inner voice.

Q: Can you explain why you drink black seed oil? What are the benefits?
