Happy September 1st friends!! Sipping on a vanilla bean matcha latte (I missed it).
I just spent the last week of August in New York, mostly hanging out (and eating my way through) Brooklyn, which was super exciting because in just a couple of months, it’s going to be my new home!

I’ve always been a California gal — I grew up in San Diego, went to college in Los Angeles, and I’ve been soaking up the sun here ever since. California has my heart, but for a while now, I’ve had this itch to shake things up and experience life somewhere new. So, I’m making the big leap and moving coasts!
I’ve been visiting New York for a few years, and every time I go, I fall a little more in love with it. But deciding to make a big move like this is a bit nerve-wracking. I’m someone who really knows how to get comfortable — I love my little apartment, being close to family, the beach, and all my go-to spots. It’s so easy to stay in that comfort zone.

There’s probably never going to be a “perfect” time for a big change. And yeah, maybe it won’t turn out to be the best thing for me, but how will I know unless I try? The unknown is scary, but sometimes we let that fear drive our decisions, and that’s when we start playing it safe instead of going after what we really want.
The trick to quieting that fear? Mindset. It’s the one thing we can control, how we react to whatever life throws our way. So why not embrace change instead of fearing it?
Change feels scary because we’re so attached to our comfort zones, but stepping out of that bubble is where the magic happens. It’s what opens us up to new opportunities and helps us grow. When we cling too tightly to what’s familiar, we’re limiting ourselves. But if we can detach a bit, take a step back, and look at things from a fresh perspective, we’ll find so many more doors opening up for us.
And don’t be too hard on yourself over missed opportunities. That’s just a scarcity mindset talking — the idea that there’s only so much to go around, that we’re all in competition, and that there’s not enough for everyone.
When you’re stuck in that mindset, your brain kind of goes on autopilot, closing off to all the amazing possibilities that are actually out there. But remember, everything happens for a reason. Every missed chance is just steering you toward something that’s truly meant for you.
And don’t worry if you find yourself slipping into that scarcity mindset now and then — it’s totally normal. The first step to breaking out of it is just recognizing when it’s happening. Call it out when you see it. And once you do, that’s when you can start to make a shift.
Anyways - ONWARD TO THE BIG APPLE! (soon)
September Seasonal Produce
Also — new month = new seasonal produce WOOHOOOO.
I love September because we got about 21 more days of summer and the end of the month it’s fall. Perfect time to go enjoy the last of summer produce (don’t sleep on the end of season heirloom tomatoes and peaches) and support your local farmers!

August Favorites
Throne of Glass: MY BOOK SERIES OBSESSION. I thought I was going to be so sad post-acotar but I am revived. This series is insaaaneely good. I am on book 5 and there is still so much to go which I am so excited for!

Clear Stem Skincare: My holy grail skincare. Love this stuff. It’s clean non endocrine disrupting ingredients that help to rebuild the skin barrier vs. break it down. My skin is extra sensitive and this has helped me to simplify my routine. Discount: glowwithella
Hatch Alarm: This is a total game-changer for my mornings. I was hesitant for a while but when it went on sale I got it and I am so glad I did. It gently wakes me up with this peaceful light that mimics a sunrise, which is a way better way to start the day than a blaring noise that just instantly causes anxiety lol. It makes getting up feel natural, almost like I’m waking up with the sun (even if it’s still pitch black outside). That along with the peaceful noise it lightly plays and slowly increases as time
The Hatch also doubles as a sound machine, so I can fall asleep to the sound of waves, rain, or even just some soft white noise. It’s just one of those small things that makes a big difference in how I start and end my day.
Wooden Tools: My wooden spoons and tools are my favorite utensils to use. Esp when it comes to raw honey!

Shilajit: Shilajit is a powerful nutrient dense substance from the earth that replenishes the body on a cellular level. It has been a staple in traditional aryuvedic medicine for thousands of years. Shilajit contains fulvic and humic acid which are powerful antioxidants that aids the body in detoxification, improves gut health and helps the body absorb nutrients more efficiently.
It has helped me so much with increasing my energy and endurance, reducing fatigue. It is also a wonderful way to improve cognitive function, memory, and reduce brain fog. I dilute it in warm water and then add it to a warm beverage with lemon in the morning, or in my shilajit ginger lemonade! Over 84 essential minerals for optimal hydration and bodily function! Discount auto-applied at link
Red Light Mask: I have been using a red-light mask consistently for years now. I switched over to the Boncharge one because I use a lot of their products and love them, and this mask is no different. For me, it is an investment in my skin health. The red light helps boost collagen production, which helps skin stay firm, smooth, and youthful. But it doesn’t just stop at anti-aging. Red light therapy is also great when it comes to calming inflammation. So dealing with redness, irritation, or even acne, this mask can helps soothe skin and speed up the healing process. Discount: Ella15
Ninja Creami: My mom got this for me for Christmas and it took me months to open it up and start using it, and I wish I had sooner. The Creami makes making ice cream SO easy. It also just helps make ice cream any time at the perfect consistency. I love it.
Excited for this new month! Enjoy your long holiday weekend friends, talk to ya soooon. XO — Ella
