Gooood morning!!! I am sipping on a cacao latte, already had my matcha latte for the day. I have lost track of which day of no coffee I am on, at least two weeks, but I have felt really good! Lots of energy and my tolerance is forsure reset. Whenever I crave it again I will have it but been feeling good without it for now.
Sunday is my day for resetting. A day of clearing out the old to make room for the new in a sense - mentally and physically.
I don’t know about you, but when my space is a mess (whether that be my kitchen, room, or even fridge and pantry disorganization) I can’t get anything else done. The mess or disorganization is always in the back of my mind and distracting me. And vise versa, when my space is clean and organized, I always feel so much more productive.
I do upkeep throughout the week, but Sunday is a day where I dedicate it to really starting fresh so I go into Monday feeling good. Sunday Reset.

Sunday Reset
Sunday is a day for me to organize, physically and mentally. By doing this on Sunday, it helps to set me up for a successful week and feel driven and energized going into Monday. Sunday does not have to be the day to do this. Sometimes Sunday is a day for me to be outdoors all day and enjoy the day. But I try and make this reset at least one of my days of the week. For a successful organization day I need: A good caffeinated bev + a good podcast or music.
Physical Organization:
Clean Sheets and Make Bed. Also if I have time or have laundry I will knock all of that out as well so all my clothes are clean for the week.
Fridge Organization. I like to take everything out of my fridge, throwing away things that are no longer good or freezing/composting (take note of what has to be thrown away so that can be avoidable in following weeks for reducing waste) and then organize my fridge. Doing this BEFORE grocery shopping for the week helps me to take into account what I have, what I still need to use, and also makes space for the new.
Pantry & Spice Organization. I do this more bi-monthly than every week, but it is also a good practice to take inventory of what you already have/may need. Anything that I don’t use or that is taking up space I donate or give to friends/family.
Kitchen Clean. I don’t know what it is but a clean kitchen makes my mind at PEACE. Doing a deep clean of all the dishes, the sink, counters, stove, trash, fridge, floors and then lighting a candle is the best feeling. Just to get it messy again for Sunday cooking and baking but ya know….it still feels good.
Floors & Counters & Windows & Mirrors & Dust. This consists of sweeping, vacuuming, mopping or swiffering. Then cleaning off and wiping off countertops and cleaning windows. Through this process there is organization and clean up going on because in order to clean off the ground and surfaces you gotta pick up and put away things.
Bathroom Clean. Scrubbing the bath/shower, cleaning the toilet, replacing new toilet paper, disinfecting and cleaning surfaces.
CLUTTER. Anyone with a hoarder mentality here?? You have had that shirt for 7 years unworn just in CASE there is a day that it needs to be worn. Don’t worry I am still that person. Now this is a big project within itself so I don’t expect myself to do this all within one day — but something I have been wanting to do now that spring is in session is do a big clean out of everything I don’t need nor use to make space for the new. I do truly believe that clearing out the old to make space for the new PHYSICALLY actually helps your brain do the same thing mentally and can open a lot of new doors. Also a wonderful opportunity to donate!
Random Upkeep. Make sure air purifier filters and water filters are replaced.
Mental Organization:
Inventory of important deadlines or events you have the upcoming week. I like to build out a calendar schedule of everything I have going on the next week. Helps me get mentally prepared for how to block out time and plan out what I need to get done prior to be prepared.
To do List. I love a to do list. If not actually used, it is a way for me to get all my thoughts scrambled in my brain out on paper. It really helps me reorganize everything mentally and make my brain more clear.
Clean out Email + Reply to Texts. I am really not a good responder. One of my fatal flaws. I often leave emails or texts unopened for weeks and it’s always an anxiety sitting in the back of my mind. Scheduling a time to go through and reply to everything helps get it off my chest and go into the week with a clean slate.
Goal + Intention Setting. Intention is much more effective than a to do list. Instead of chasing after checking everything off, having a general idea of the your purpose and making decisions with that intention in mind gets you faster to where you wanna be.
Journaling, Meditation or YOU Time. Getting quiet and slow with yourself is just as important if not more important for your mental and physical health as anything else. So often we are going going going that we lose track of time and purpose. By slowing down, getting rid of noise and just spending quality time with yourself it helps bring us back to the present and go into everything with a fresh and clear mind.
Making Your Home a Sanctuary
I work from home, so I spend a lot of time from home, and prioritizing making it a place where it feels like a sanctuary is important to me.
Making your home a sanctuary is a key pillar in your health and wellbeing. So I wanted to share some of my favorite tips, alongside what I shared above, that I have incorporated to make my home, and my health, a better place.
