Unfortunately everyone around me is sick too. I hope that you are feeling good and healthy but if not, here are a few things that have been helping me:
Also — a BIG giveaway, nourishing comforting recipes, a lil mothers day recap & my mom’s favorite muffin recipe allll happening below <3
The Basics - Sleep. Sunlight. Grounding. It has been so gloomy so this is tough but when the sun comes out I make an effort to take a break and lay out in it because even a few minutes truly makes a big difference. Also sleeping as much as possible and giving myself permission to rest knowing that even if it doesn’t feel that way it is productive and what my body truly needs.
Lotsa Minerals and Electrolytes. Liquids liquids liquids are my favorite thing because I feel like it helps my body flush everything out, while replenishing essential nutrients. Been drinking lots of coconut water, bone broth, herbal tea and then just plain water with added minerals. My favorites are the Quicksilver Scientific packets or Shilajit*.
Propolis Throat Spray. My sickness started out all in the throat which can make it hard to sleep but this throat spray is so soothing pretty much immediately.
Vitamin C*. Antioxidant immunity powerhouse!
Oregano Oil. One of nature’s “antibiotics”. Can help to kill the bad bacteria in my system, I like taking Cymbiotika’s ParaX* because it has some additional anti-pathogenic, antimicrobial, antiviral, and antibacterial properties.
Peppermint Oil Sinus Massage. Immediate relief in the sinuses. Also steaming the face before doing this helps everything drain out.
Manuka Honey. Scoop of raw honey a day keeps the doctor away. I love just taking a spoonful of this. It is immediately soothing on my throat and has so many incredible healing benefits.
Bone Broth Tonic. If you have not yet made my bone broth tonic you are missing outttt its so nourishing, comforting and healing. (recipe below!)
*BTW: My Cymbiotika discount has switched to “GLOWWITHELLA” and it is now 30% off for this month only (that is on top of the bundle discount)

Yesterday we surprised my mom with a big brunch at home. She, like me, is a homebody who prefers cooking a home cooked meal rather than going out so she was so happy.
I went to the farmers market & stocked up on everything to make a yummy scramble: eggs, pork sausage, peppers, zucchini, onion, leeks, garlic and basil. Plus some tomatoes, green onions and other lil spring snacks: radishes, snap peas and strawberries.

A couple of TIPS:
STRAWBERRIES: To keep my strawberries lasting longer this season I have been cleaning them (I use either branch basics and filtered water), rinsing them, and then laying them out to completely dry. Remove any of the moldy ones. Then I transfer to a glass container or jar to keep in the fridge. They have been lasting much longer this way.
POTATOES: For the best crispy potatoes, I love to steam them prior to cooking. My FAV thing to do if I have time is steam potatoes, chop them up, and then freeze them. This cooling process helps bring out the resistant starch which is wonderful for gut health + lowers glycemic index. Once they have been cooled, I add some olive oil and salt and stick them in the oven at 425 degrees for around 30 minutes, and end with a broil for a few mins to get them xxtra crispy.
Tis the season for good produce the farmers market had soooo much good stuff!!! Other than the scramble we made crispy smashed potatoes, bloody marys and my mom’s favorite muffins.
I love a good muffin… I mean who doesn’t? But let’s be honest the best part of a muffin is the muffin top. That is why in my family when we make muffins they are 90% top…I don’t make the rules!! A big fat top makes the muffin 20x better.
There was this bakery in San Diego that agreed… They had these giant muffins called King-Kong Bran Muffins and wow they were amazing. My mom used to drive 45 minutes in the morning just to go get them. They are hearty, delicious, and filled with fiber that definitely gets the digestion moving.
So for Mother’s Day ofc I had to make her a big batch of these amazing muffins… and it would be wrong not to share this amazing recipe with you!
